The finish level describes how joints and surface details are treated. We can discuss the intended use and define the appropriate scope alongside the project's assembly requirements. A finish-level number alone does not determine fire, moisture or sound performance of the complete wall.

Before choosing a level, explain what the surface will receive and whether it will be visible. Requirements for a specific area need confirmation against the applicable project documents and finish guidance. For a normally visible painted room, discuss the appearance target instead of assuming a low-level finish is ready for decoration.
What affects the estimate and schedule
Scope, joint treatment and later finishes affect labor. Send the room use, current board condition and any drawings or specified finish levels.

Is Level 3 the same as a paint-ready smooth wall?
No. The intended final finish needs to be considered; do not approve a smooth painted appearance based on the number alone.
