Interior framing and backing
Work can include partitions, closets, door openings, headers, blocking and framing repairs. Describe the intended room use and any features that need support. Changing a wall or opening requires review of the existing structure before the scope is confirmed; structural decisions may require approved plans.
Trim and baseboard installation
Baseboards and door casing complete the transition between walls, floors and openings. We discuss the profile, material, corners and how new pieces meet retained trim. Removal, installation, caulking and painting are separate items to confirm rather than assume.
Door installation and fit
Door work starts with dimensions and the condition of the opening. Clarify whether the request is for a door slab, a prehung unit or adjustment of an existing door. Swing direction, hardware, latch alignment and clearance at the finished floor affect the result.
From rough work to finish details
Framing precedes drywall; floor heights and finished wall surfaces inform door and trim installation. The number of openings, custom fitting, damaged framing and material availability affect cost and timing. Discuss any required design or permit decisions before scheduling layout changes.
Questions about this work
Can you remove or change any wall?
A wall must be reviewed before removal or modification. Photos alone do not establish whether it carries loads or contains utilities. Any required plans and approvals must be resolved before work begins.
Can new trim match what is already installed?
Send a close-up of the profile and its dimensions. Availability, wear and previous paint affect the match; replacing a complete run may create a more consistent result than a short patch.
Why does a replacement door need an opening review?
An opening can be out of square or sized differently from a standard unit. Reviewing the frame, floor clearance and hardware prevents choosing a door that needs unplanned fitting.
